I first came across yoni eggs about 5 years ago, whilst checking out the work of Kim Anami. Kim does a pretty good sales job on yoni egg use in general – and is also known for travelling around the world and lifting various objects (from chandeliers to surfboards) with her vagina…
Yoni weight-lifting aside, however (which I do from time-to-time and enjoy… although am not finding myself eyeing up any chandeliers as yet), it was more the other benefits of a regular yoni egg practice that drew me. In particular, the way in which it was said to help reconnect women back to their bodies again – to get them more in touch with their sexuality, pleasure and general “aliveness” – such an important part of this physical experience, and yet so often neglected or even shut down completely.
For me, I realised, at the tender age of 45, that I had some work to do in this area. Although I had worked to undo a lot of the social conditioning and sexual trauma I had experienced whilst growing up, there were still deep remnants of both kicking around, resulting in me really not feeling 100% comfortable in my skin. I realise now that this results whenever we have created a rift between our souls and our sexuality – and that until that rift is healed it is going to be impossible to really be here in our totality and live life to our own personal fullest, most creative, authentic potential. And that is always an ongoing journey.
But it’s also a journey that can be helped along the way with various conscious sexuality practices – the yoni egg practice being one of them. The reason a yoni egg works so well in this regard is that, first of all, it helps us to generate sexual energy – and, with that, can evoke memories of anything in our past that we may now be ready to release. Or simply to bring up any ideas/beliefs we may have about sexuality that we can then take a closer look at to see if they really DO still resonate/feel true or not? Using the property crystals have to absorb emotions/energy from whatever energy field or environment they come into contact with, it is then possible to use a yoni egg to absorb and remove any unwanted memories/emotions/outdated beliefs that come up for us – and cleanse them out of the crystal once we have finished.
I have written more about the practice of doing this here – it’s a practice I have worked with myself (and continue to do so as I feel the need) – as well as with guided yoni egg meditations specifically for releasing unwanted memories and emotions – and it’s certainly helped me a lot. I’m definitely a lot more comfortable in my own skin nowadays – as well as having developed a much more loving relationship to my yoni and body in general – and, from that, I have started taking more physical and emotional care of myself – and, with the start of creating my online training courses/portal, am now teaching others how to do the same.
On another level, I have definitely noticed increased sensitivity and lubrication in my vagina, and am also able to access deeper states of orgasm a lot more easily. All pretty nice benefits if you ask me! And a yoni egg practice is also super-grounding so it brings a confidence and solidity that I am very much enjoying.
Overall, being on this yoni egg journey has connected me to life more – part of which is also showing me where I am lacking in connection too! This automatically extends an invitation to open up more – OR to simply be satisfied with being where I am at right now, for whatever reason that makes sense to me at any one time. We are all different. So there’s no right way or wrong way to do any of it – we move at our own perfect pace – just as long as we are good with where we are at and that we stay curious and inquisitive so we don’t stagnate. But getting solid, confident and comfortable with who we are at any given time, whilst always being open to further expansion, is so empowering – and I have found that using a yoni egg, as well as a yoni wand and yoni steaming, and the increased levels of self-love and connection that they have the potential to bring, have all helped me enormously in this way.
In addition, the physical benefits of using a yoni egg are not lost on me either… 50% of all women suffer some form of pelvic organ prolapse and 49% of all women suffer from stress incontinence – WAAAAY too many – and the correct, regular use of a yoni egg can help prevent both of these. So I’m very happy to get on board with those benefits too! Our pelvic floor muscles work really hard – and certainly deserve to be shown some love in return! ♥
